Oriental Wall Hangings

Dream about the devil? Any ideas what it meant, read more….?

I had a dream that I was in a bedroom that I didnt recognise. It had blood red drapes and wall hangings, and there was a permenant breeze making them sway. I was tied up somehow (my arms I think). The bed was directly in the centre of the room.To my right the wall was not there, instead there was some kind of other world, not evil looking but not heavenly either, just weird trees, colours etc. To my left was a very attractive man, dark hair, dark skin, almost Oriental looking in some ways. He wanted to dance, he wasnt saying anything to me but somehow I knew he wanted to dance?
Then when I stood close to him, i looked in his eyes and knew he was satan.

Does anyone know anything about dreams? this one has stuck with me and I remember it so clearly, almost as if it happened. It has not faded over time.

The red drapes:
Survival (1st chakra) or issues concerning your foundation in life
Blood, life force
Passion, sexual energy
Anger, aggression, inflammation, seeing red
Extreme pain
Embarrassment, being red-faced
Danger, warning
A red carpet may represent something that’s important
Restriction, red tape
Being in debt, in the red
A false or unimportant issue, making too much of something, a red herring

The devil as an attractive form:
An arch rival
Somebody who is malicious or sneeky
Somebody who is daring, mischievous or energetic
Something that represents frustration or annoyance
Something that is not working in your favour
Black-heartedness or cruelty, or any other behaviour befitting a devil
Finding yourself between two undesirable alternatives, between the devil and the deep blue sea
Being careless or reckless, adopting a devil-may-care attitude
Acknowledging the talents of someone you dislike, giving the devil his due
Causing a stir, raising the devil
Intuition, premonition, talk of the devil
Facing a negative consequence of an action, the devil to pay
Adding spice or interest to something, devilling it
Something excellent or fantastic, devilish
Choosing the lesser of two “evils”, better the devil you know than the devil you don’t know
Adopting an unpopular or opposing view for the sake of argument, playing devil’s advocate

Asking for a dance:
The dance of life
Dancing may denote relishing life
May have sexual or romantic connotations
The meaning could vary significantly according to type of dance e.g. ballet dancing may suggest control, beauty or discipline, break dancing may suggest breaking loose etc.
